After over a years worth of evaluation, the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service and the government of Excalibur announced the preliminary findings of the excavations on the third moon of Excalibur. Baron Arvin Hault-Devros, IISS liaison to Excalibur's government was quoted in a press release accompanying the publication of the first report on the excavation: "The excavations have revealed evidence of an interstellar intelligence in the sector, predating the arrival of Humaniti. Their physical remains indicate that they were unrelated to any known sophonts in the region, but their technology was barely capable of interplanetary travel they do not appear to have developed the jump drive in any form."
"We are not sure how they came to be in the Excalibur system, " Hault-Devros continued, "but the remains excavated so far do not preclude a sublight colony ship of some sort."

Reliable news reports from Home are scarce because of the expulsion of TNS reporters in 1123, but TNS reporters on other worlds are in contact with unnamed sources on the Solomani capital have continued to assemble information on former Secretary-General Marc Chissano. The provisional government of Jan Malikov continues to refuse comment on Chissano's whereabouts or status, refusing to confirm or deny reports that Chissano is in custody, or even if he is dead or alive.
Previously, Malikov's government has unofficially "leaked" information that Chissano is in custody awaiting trial for treason, but those sources have dried up in recent months. Some Imperial authorities still believe that Chissano is at large in the Solomani Sphere, plotting the downfall of the Malikov government.

Arrests have been made in connection with the bomb that exploded in a secure warehouse facility at Shadulammur Downport a few days ago. He noticed a number of minor errors in the customs paperwork, remarked Adnan Harrapan, of the local MoJ office, and connected them with similar mistakes he had noticed in other documents. MoJ agents traced the documents and were able to track down several suspects in the explosion.

A bomb exploded today in a secure warehouse facility at Shadulammur Downport, but fortunately there were no fatalities, although several members of the downport security forces were severely injured and two were hospitalized. The bomb was in a sealed cargo container scheduled to be transferred to the highport facility earlier in the day, but it was delayed due to irregularities in the containers papers discovered by Malawabab Lalabuaam, a Bwap working for the local customs authorities.
Details are unavailable at this time, but authorities did say that there had been significant damage to other cargos in the same warehouse.

Within a very short time of the announcement of an old supply cache for the now defunct anti-Imperial insurgency on this world, two more caches of equal vintage have been discovered, one by the son of one of the insurgents.
Burl LeChances father, Mechal LeChance, died fourteen years ago, but left a cryptic entry in his personal diary that led the younger LeChance to approach the Imperial Ministry of Justice. LeChance senior was one of a cell of insurgents tasked with maintaining the cache until its contents were needed.
I had skimmed through the diary after Father died, said the younger LeChance, But most of it had been written in a personal shorthand that only he understood. The police managed to decode it, however, and located the cache.
LeCances cache contained no explosives, or weapons -- only food, clothing, and printing supplies -- leading authorities to the conclusion that LeChances cell was a propaganda unit.

"The cache had been abandoned for many years, and many of the supplies had deteriorated, the official said, "We believe the cache dates from more than 17 years ago, during the period when the insurgents lost popular support on this world. We do not believe it indicates the continued existence of any anti-government organization."
